The Arizona Corporation Commission opened a new docket on June 8th 2018 to determine if Johnson Utilities has the necessary managerial and technical capabilities to operate water and wastewater systems. You can see that docket here:

Today was a procedural conference about the recent outages and here is the breakdown of what was discussed.

The commission wants the hearings to be done in an expedited procedure so they can have a recommended order to be out by the end of July.

Commission staff attorney proposed to file their report Monday 6/25. JU attorney proposed to have their response by July 12th. And the judge proposed the evidentiary hearing to be held on July 16th.

The towns of Queen Creek and Florence, as well as Pinal County had their attorney’s present. Pinal County stated their interest in the hearing would be so that when they issued permits they would have confidence in the water and waste water services.
